Messaging apps are by far one of the most popular types of apps – Facebook Messenger currently connects 700 million users while WhatsApp boasts 800 million monthly users. Because they are free to use with Wi-Fi, these apps are a great way to share images, videos and voice messages to friends and family across the globe.
In our fast moving world, we strive to stay connected through our phones as much as possible – it’s a 24/7 job. If someone messages you and they see you’ve read it, regardless if it’s the middle of the night it’s rude not to reply! This is the downside to being available through technology day and night, it’s hard to get some alone time away from constant notifications.
A brand new app recently launched on Kickstarter is aiming to change this 24/7 social lifestyle, so you don’t have to feel anxious about leaving your phone for a few hours. Yofam is for people who like to be social but also like to be independent, who want to live life in the moment and not glued to an app all day and night.
With special privacy features such as an online and offline status, and a ‘last seen time’ which users can set themselves, there is never pressure to reply to any messages instantly. Feel free to chat to your best friend but ignore all other messages without guilt.
There’s also some extra cool unique features which no other app has. For example, if you hate being ignored you can shake your phone to ‘BOOM!!!’ your friends. There’s also the option of a time bomb, which should you choose to use it, will instantly delete all messages in a conversation from both phones.
Additionally, in a Yofam chat if someone screenshots your conversation you’ll receive a notification – another way to protect your privacy. All users also have a timeline to share images to all contacts and display their current mood and update their status.
Yofam has taken all the essential features of much loved messaging apps, and made the experience even better. It’s social and fun, while also ensuring that privacy is paramount.
But Yofam needs your help to make it to the next phase of development. As they currently have an MVP (minimal viable product) in the UK AppStore. The developers need £25,000 from Kickstarter funders to get started on this unique social app. Back this project and be one of the first to use this amazing messenger.
