A Game-Changer for Adult Entertainment Industry – 10-20 million people predicted to view adult VR content in 2016
SAN DIEGO-Naughty America, one of the largest US producers of adult video and the industry’s leading technology innovator, introduces the kind of virtual reality (VR) that Americans want most: the adult kind — at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas January 6-9, 2016.
“VR scenes are extremely immersing and provide an intimate experience like nothing else can. You feel like you’re really there, in the room, almost as though you could touch the performers”
“VR scenes are extremely immersing and provide an intimate experience like nothing else can. You feel like you’re really there, in the room, almost as though you could touch the performers,” says Ian Paul, Naughty America’s CIO. “Customers want to get as close to reality as they can without reality getting in the way. That’s where technologies like 4K and now VR become so important. VR and adult content make a perfect match.”
Having already made thousands of its fantasies available in mobile and 4K Ultra HD formats, Naughty America has led the way again, by releasing its original titles in VR to industry acclaim.
Naughty America’s VR content is formatted for 180-degree stereoscopic head tracking using a VR headset. Viewers are immersed directly into the scene, elevating the experience to a completely new level.
From the first introduction of VCR tapes through to today’s ubiquitous online desktop, mobile viewing and 4K, the adult industry has not only been among the earliest adopters of new technology, it has helped shape the technology itself. Naughty America, working closely with its customers and technology developers plays a significant role in how the industry develops.
VR has a relatively small market share today – about 1-2% of the overall market for adult content – although, even a small percentage of the $8 – $10 billion adult video industry is significant. But, the adult VR market is on a high growth trajectory. Naughty America predicts that by the end of 2016, 10-20 million people will view adult VR content at least once a month.
Naughty America is offering a $5 sign up promotion to CES attendees that can be accessed through its homepage.
“The entire history of porn has been trying by whatever means available to arrive at this type of experience, and now it’s here. This is a huge leap forward,” adds Paul.
