A major redesign of Google’s apps for Android, iOS and web may be in the works.Technology website Android Police has leaked Google’s new “design paradigm,” named Quantum Paper. It is a design framework that aims to create the same look and feel for Google apps across all platforms, Android, iOS and web. Quantum Paper centres on Polymer, a toolkit to create pre-defined but customizable building blocks for websites. Announced at Google’s I/O developer conference last year, Polymer is essentially an “open-source extension of web components.” Google wants not just its own team but even third-party developers to use this design framework to create the app UI for all form factors and devices, it said at the conference.
